Originating from a pioneering philanthropic initiative in Indonesia, Mekar has grown into one of Indonesia's largest impactful financing platforms. For over a decade, we have continued to build an accessible financing platform for individuals, micro-enterprises, and underserved communities seeking capital.
MEKAR has received a business license from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) under OJK Decree Number KEP-129/D.05/2019 dated December 13, 2019. MEKAR's business activities are strictly supervised and regulated under OJK Regulation No. 40 of 2024 on Information Technology-Based Joint Funding Services (LPBBTI), ensuring MEKAR's legality and compliance with all prevailing laws and regulations in Indonesia.
For us, growth must always go hand in hand with responsibility. Therefore, we implement data-driven credit analysis, rigorous policies, and prudent risk management to minimize non-performing financing and maintain sustainability. This approach enables us to preserve portfolio quality while mitigating risks of violation, fraud, and loss when issues arise.

Ahmad started his career in the banking sector in 1983 when he joined the Indonesian Central Bank (Bank Indonesia). His previous roles include Director of Banking Investigation and Mediation at Bank Indonesia as well as senior leadership positions at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia. In 2012, Ahmad joined the Sampoerna Financial Group.
